Vero-Hektor

On the short description of vero-hektor subcultures it is written that EDTA only must be used (no trypsin). We did not succeed to dislodge the cells without trypsin . Does anyone use this cell line and would be gratefull to share its knowledge.
Thank you

RE: Vero-Hektor  (in reply to Xhulhoven

Dear Xhulhoven,

EDTA alone rather than Trypsin/EDTA has been used to dislodge the Vero-Hektor cells because the Hektor G medium will not inactivate the trypsin as it is protein- and serum-free. However, if you wanted to use trypsin when harvesting these cells you would need to use a trypsin inhibitor to inactivate the trypsin.

Best wishes,

Isobel
