It has several different collections of cell culture containing cell lines with different characteristics. Cell culture is available in two formats, as frozen cell culture or growing cell lines. ECACC also supplies DNA from cell culture, particularly a series Human genomic control DNA extracted from lymphoblastoid cell culture. Such cell lines are generated by EBV transformation generating immortalised cell culture, which can be used as an infinite source of control DNA. Other cell culture collections include a collection of HLA defined cell lines or a collection of cell culture representing over 800 different genetic disorders. ECACC has recently formed a partnership with Sigma-Aldrich to enhance European distribution of ECACC cell culture. The cell lines are sent directly to customers so that they retain the benefit of ECACC cell culture which are authenticated and mycoplasma free.
