A series of DNA panels for use in genomic research is being developed by ECACC from its Human Genetic Cell Collection. The information provided with the samples differs between the different disorders but will usually consist of: - Age at sampling
- Diagnosis
- Method of diagnosis (where appropriate)
- Depositor information
The ECACC Genetic DNA Disease Panels are not intended as a primary research material. However research groups working in these areas can use the ECACC Panels, being a low cost material that is readily available, to develop/optimise procedures or for comparison with locally recruited material. DNA Panels planned for release in 2002 onwards are: - Breast Cancer
- Schizophrenia
- Alzheimers
- Bipolar Disorder
- Crohn's Disease
The first DNA panel HGD BC-1 (Breast Cancer) has been released in 96 well format, ready for immediate use in genetic research programmes. Release dates for other panels will be posted on our website.
